PLS-5013 – Nesaru reaches new heights!
(May 22, 2016 – Amherst, OH)
Nesaru launched on her most ambitious mission…and a fingernail biting nervous one at that!
This launch was to test the telemetry system at its farthest distance so far as Neasru launced on an Aerotech I-200 motor. The biggest motor ever launched on Nesaru since her first two flights.
Nesaru reached an altitude of 2501 feet at a maximum speed of 334 MPH. The telemetry system worked perfectly, recording data the whole way up.
There was a strong cross-breeze somewhere above 800 feet, diminishing her maximum altitude by a few hundred feet , but we will still call this an unqualified success! This proves my telemetry system for Level 2 flights is taking shape!
